Free printable flyer: SNAP work rules and the 3-month time limit
A one-page flyer in English and Spanish that explains the SNAP work requirement and time limit in plain language. Free to print, post and hand out.
What the flyer says
- Some adults can get SNAP for only 3 months in 36 months unless they work, volunteer or train at least 80 hours a month.
- Who it applies to: adults 18 to 64 who can work (ABAWDs), and what changed under the 2025 law (H.R. 1).
- What counts toward 80 hours, and that job search alone does not count.
- The exemptions, such as pregnancy, a health condition, a child under 14 in the SNAP household, and working 30 hours or earning $217.50 a week.
- That a few areas with high unemployment have a waiver.
- What to do now, and how to get SNAP back: 80 hours in 30 days, becoming exempt, a new 36-month period, or a fair hearing.
- A QR code that opens our free checker (the Spanish flyer opens the Spanish checker).
Who it is for
Food banks and pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, legal aid offices, libraries, community health centers, SNAP outreach workers, caseworkers, workforce centers, faith groups, and anyone who helps people keep their SNAP. Post it on a bulletin board, put it in food boxes, or hand it out at the front desk.
Free to print and share
You do not need to ask us. Print as many copies as you like, post them, and share the PDF by email or on your website. Please print the flyer without changes so the facts and the "information as of" date at the bottom stay accurate.
- Print on US Letter paper at "actual size" or 100%. Black and white works.
- The flyer is not a government notice. It says so at the bottom, and it tells readers that their state makes the final decision.
- When the rules change, we update the flyer here. Check this page for the newest version.
